Getting started
- Download Tayo Po free from Google Play.
- Tap Continue with Google and pick your account. That is all you need to sign in.
- Check your country. Tayo Po suggests it from your phone and uses it for your currency (AED, SAR, QAR, KWD, BHD or OMR) and for posts, deals and flights near you. Change it anytime in Profile.
- Finish your profile when you like: the small ring on Home shows what is left (name, photo, accounts, country).
- Choose your language (English or Filipino) and light or dark mode in Profile.
Home
- The blue card shows your total balance and this month’s money in and money out.
- The flame at the top is your daily streak: open Tayo Po every day to keep it going. Tap it to see your week.
- Below you will find your latest entries, budgets and shortcuts to your plans.
Adding entries
- Tap the + button.
- Choose Expense, Income or Transfer (money moving between your own accounts).
- Type the amount, pick a category (for example Food, Rent, Padala or Salary) and the account it came from or went to.
- Add a note or change the date if you need to, then tap Save.
Tap any entry to see it, change it or delete it. All your entries are in Activity, where you can search and filter.
Tip: money sent home? Save it as an expense in the Padala category, so you always know how much went to family this month.
Accounts
- Add your cash, bank and e-wallet accounts, each with the amount it has today.
- Every entry updates the right account, so each balance is always up to date.
- Balances are explained in plain words: what you started with, money in, money out and what is free to spend.
Budgets and insights
- Set a monthly limit per category, for example AED 800 for groceries.
- Tayo Po tells you when a budget reaches 80% and when it is passed.
- Insights shows charts of what came in, what went out and how much you saved.
Uwi Fund and goals
- The Uwi Fund is your savings goal for the trip home. Set the amount and the date, and Tayo Po shows how much to put aside each month.
- Add other goals too: a new phone, tuition, an emergency fund.
- Moving money into a goal can take it from one of your accounts, so your balances stay right.
Utang
- Tap I gave when you lend money, or I took when you borrow.
- Add the person, the amount and, if you like, a due date. You can say which account the money came from or went to.
- When they pay back (or you do), record the payment. Part payments are fine; it settles when fully paid.
- Tayo Po reminds you the day before an utang is due.
Utang records are your own notes. They are not legal documents.
Paluwagan
- Create a paluwagan: give it a name, the amount each member pays per round, how often (monthly or weekly) and add the members.
- Each round, tap a member to mark them paid, or tap Remind unpaid to share a friendly reminder in your group chat.
- When a round is due, tap Draw round. Tayo Po draws fairly from the members who have not received yet, and you can share the result.
- Tayo Po reminds you two days before your payout, and on the day.
Tayo Po only keeps the record. It never collects or pays out any money.
Flights home
- Open For you to see the cheapest flights between the Gulf and the Philippines, starting with your country.
- Search any route and date with the search card.
- Tap Set alert on a flight to be told when it gets cheaper. It turns blue and says Alert on. Your route home is watched for you automatically.
- Tap Book to book with the travel partner. Prices can change until you book.
Tours and shop deals
- Tours: desert safaris, city tours and attractions in the Gulf and back home, booked with partners.
- Shop: deals from shops you know. In the UAE this includes Amazon.ae best sellers. Tap a ticket for details, then Shop.
- When a deal has a code, tap it to copy, then paste it at checkout.
Tayo Po may earn a small commission from these partners, at no extra cost to you. See the Affiliate disclosure.
Community boards
- Bedspace: rooms, partitions and bedspace for rent.
- Preloved: buy and sell used items.
- Pasabuy: send or carry items between the Gulf and the Philippines.
- Business: Filipino businesses near you.
Each board opens on your country. Use the search and the filter to choose a country, city or category. Pull down to refresh.
Posting and contacting
- Open a board and tap + to post. Add a clear title, photos (not for pasabuy), a price, your city and how to reach you.
- To call or WhatsApp a poster, tap Contact. It is free after a short video ad.
- See something wrong? Open the post and tap Report. Posts reported by several people are taken down and sent back to the owner, who can fix and publish them again.
- Meet in public places and never send money before you see the item or room.
Business listings
- List your business in the Business board for 1, 6 or 12 months, paid through Google Play.
- Business listings appear above free posts and have no ads on their page.
- Manage or cancel anytime in Profile, then Manage, or in Google Play.
Ad-free plan
- Tayo Po is free with ads. For a calm app with no ads, choose Ad-free in Profile (monthly, through Google Play).
- Cancel anytime: Profile, then Manage. It stays ad-free until the end of the month you paid for.
Notifications
Turn on notifications so Tayo Po can remind you at the right time. In Profile, then Notifications, choose what you want:
- Daily reminder at 8 pm, and budget alerts
- Utang due dates and paluwagan payouts
- Payday on the 1st of each month, and a Sunday spending recap
- New bedspace, pasabuy and preloved near you (at most twice a week)
- Flight price drops, and updates about your own posts
Tayo Po never sends reminders late at night.
Offline, backup and new phones
- Tayo Po works offline. Add entries anywhere; changes sync when you are back online.
- Your money records stay on your phone. If backup is on in your phone’s settings, Android also keeps an encrypted copy in your own Google account.
- On a new phone, sign in to Google, install Tayo Po from Google Play and sign in with the same account. Your records come back.
- When a new version is ready, Tayo Po shows a small Update message. Tap it to update without leaving the app.
Your account
- Change your name, photo and country in Profile.
- Sign out from Profile, under Account.
- To delete your account and data, open Profile and tap Delete account. See Delete your account for details.
